Beginnings

In the beginning parts of this chapter, particularly the first page, the writer mentions that “women’s activity was suppressed by revolutionaries and reactionaries alike”. This made me think of the countless efforts women had made in the past to gain rights, and it even made me think of modern day movements. My question is, do minorities revolutionary ideas seem to be diminished by the male majority and their revolutionary thoughts?

  1. I do believe that in the case of the efforts that we have seen from women during this time period, alot of them if not all of them are most definitely diminished the male majority. It resonates the idea that one, women do not have a strong voice in politics and in other aspects of society during this time and that two, the male majority feels that if there ideas cannot coincide then other revolutionary ideas besides their own are pointless.
